Not the NV center again!

This will not be a hard sell on the great properties and phenomenal array of applications of the NV center in diamond. Rather, I intend to explain circumstances when the NV does not exhibit such great properties and to learn something from these circumstances. For example, the NV does not always exhibit significant optically induced spin polarization and even does not always emit. It will be explained how this can occur.
